Hi! I’m Corby and my passion comes from helping you achieve optimal health and happiness


I’m a Mom to a beautiful boy, partner to an exceptional man and would love an opportunity to be your personal trainer. I’m originally from British Columbia, Canada and have resided in Brisbane, Australia since 2012 (wow has it been that long!?). I feel blessed to have lived in two of the most beautiful countries in the world. One of the things I hear the most during the Brissy winter (when I’m the most rugged up), is people say “Aren’t you from Canada?” I just love being warm!

If you live in Bardon or anywhere nearby, I would love a chance to work with you in person. I’ve opened a unique studio with views of the mountains on Simpsons Road and run small group training several times a day (see timetable and payment options here). I also do buddy and private training so there is something for everyone!

I chose the name Biome (bye-ohm) because I believe the microbiome plays a significant role in our health and happiness. Biome, also means community and I love supporting like-minded, men and women who believe consistency in movement and a balanced lifestyle are the key to a fulfilling life. No deprivation or crash diets here! My coaching approach, as you may be able to guess, is holistic and I will be here for you in every way. A bit about me…

I’ve been a health and fitness coach for over 13 years, obtaining my certification in Canada in 2008. Before I found my passion, I obtained my Broadcasting and Media Communications for Television Diploma and Real Estate certification. I found neither fulfilled my love of science or need to serve but it wasn’t until the unhealthy lifestyle caught up with me (and I suffered a herniated disc) that I decided to make a change. Do you suffer from back or any other chronic pain? I will help relieve your frustration and get you back to feeling 100%. I have helped 1000’s of clients completely eradicate or significantly reduce hip, neck, wrist, knee and back pain.

The reason my clients are so successful at reaching their goals is because we approach this as a relationship. Every relationship has an unspoken contract and ours is based on the fact that for you to become healthier and happier, we BOTH need to show up and deliver our goods (fulfil our conditions).


  1. Passion – if I didn’t care about what you achieve or how you get there, than I wouldn’t be able to support you in the right way. I promise to motivate and support you in all the ways YOU need me to. Your health and happiness are OUR goals so I will guide you efficiently and safely.
  2. Knowledge – after 13 years as a trainer, I am still educating myself everyday and adding to my credentials. What you may not know is that to remain registered as a personal trainer, I am required to earn 20 CECs every 2 years, as well as maintain current first aid and CPR. This means that I am forever learning new, exciting and updated ways to help you reach your goals in a safe environment.
  3. Experience – 1000’s of my clients have transformed their lives physically and mentally. Each client comes with their own unique goals, health conditions, injuries and belief systems. My training style is a balance of science, psychology and fun (yes we have fun!). My goal is for you to gain or maintain lean muscle while dropping body fat without feeling deprived. I like to train using all fuel systems so that your time is utilised in the best way possible. This keeps you mentally stimulated and your physique progressing. When needed, I work closely with general practitioners, specialists and family members so your best interests remain in the forefront.
  4. Belief in you and never settling for less than I know you can achieve – as an example, I had a lovely client (whom I became good friends with) lose 55kgs (122lbs) in a year and keep it off. Our mantra was ‘Believe’ and that’s what kept her eye on the prize. Whenever she felt she wouldn’t hit our next target, I reminded her of what she had already achieved and that I knew in my heart she could do it. Every check in proved me right and before you know it the scales went from 145kgs (319lbs) to 89.5kgs (197lbs). Knowing when not to push is key as well. Life happens and our priorities are a constant ebb and flow. My job is to push you when I know you can handle it and nurture you when you need me.
  1. Passion – burning desire to be a better person, physically and mentally. This also comes from being fed up with yourself for settling when you know you can be and do so much more.
  2. Dedication – “the sum of small efforts creates success”. A beautiful way to look at life and so true. Do the work every day, be consistent with your efforts and they will pay off 10 fold. Even when you fall off track (because you will), know that the sooner you get back, the sooner you will reap the rewards.
  3. Grit  this is the part of you that determines how far you will go. You will need the mental strength to give up what may feel good in the moment for what will give you the best results in the long run and essentially your best life. This is also the part of you that determines how hard you work in your sessions. Pushing yourself to get the next 5 reps or run for 1 more minute when you already feel exhausted, that takes true grit. Some people can do this on their own while some need a trainer to push them to put in that extra effort.
  4. Belief in yourself – you already know that I believe in you, so it’s time to start believing in yourself too! Even if it seems like everything is against you (you’ve got limited time/negative self image/niggles), know in your heart that you are meant to be happy and healthy. Say to yourself throughout the day. ‘I am POWERFUL, I am CAPABLE and I am WORTHY’. Watch what that does for your self esteem and ultimately your achievements (it has done wonders for me)!
